Audient Alliance

AUDIENT is a national nonprofit hearing care alliance uniting hearing health care professionals, suppliers, and related groups with the common goal of providing access to quality hearing aids and related care for low income hearing impaired people. AUDIENT is a nationwide program available to households earning up to 250% above the national poverty level. There is no age qualification for AUDIENT, and we are happy to help children as well as seniors.If you have any questions about our income qualification process, please contact us at 866-956-5400, and we will be happy to assist you.

Ear of the Lion Hearing Foundation of California/Nevada

Operated by the Lions Club, the foundation provides hearing aids to people with limited finances. The person must be a legal resident of the U.S. This includes people with Green Cards. Any other persons must get prior approval from the Ear of the Lion Foundation before they can receive funding. Household income generally must be below $25,500 for one person. However, the foundation can sometimes make other allowances or adjustments depending on individual circumstances. There are several other eligibility requirements: A copy of a hearing test conducted within 6 months of your application; a written medical physician?s clearance; and verification of income. Ear of the Lion charges $150 per hearing aid; $300 for two hearing aids.

Hear Now

Hear Now provides hearing aids to low-income individuals. Applicant's income must fall below the federal poverty level. For program eligibility Hear Now looks at applicants' out-of-pocket, paid medical expenses for the previous 12 months, as well as available assets. There is a non-refundable processing fee of $100 to apply for each hearing aid.

Miracle-EarĀ® Children's Foundation

Miracle-EarĀ® Children's Foundation provides free hearing aids and services to children from low-income families. To receive assistance through the Children's Foundation, the child must be: • A resident of the United States. • 16-years-old or younger. • In a family with an income level that does not allow the family to receive public support. • In a family committed to intervention, rehabilitation, and necessary follow-up services as the child grows. The HIKE Fund, Inc.

The HIKE fund provides hearing devices for children with hearing impairments whose parents are unable to meet this special need financially. 100 children (newborn to 20-years-old) are provided with hearing devices each year. Children are eligible to receive a grant providing the need is verified by a prescription from an audiologist or physician. Many of the recipients are children of working parents. The Fund has awarded many types of devices to aid hearing impaired children in communication including, but not limited to: hearing aids, FM systems, closed caption converters, tactile units, alerting systems, and specialized sports equipment.

TPA Scholarship for the Deaf and Near-Deaf

The Travelers Protective Association of America Scholarship Trust for the Deaf and Near Deaf provides financial assistance to individuals of all ages who suffer deafness or hearing impairment. To obtain an application send your name and address to the address above. NOTE: Completed application must be returned by March 1st of each year. TPA Trustees review all applications on file in April, notifies recipients in May, and checks are mailed after August 1st. Recipients may receive additional aid and must complete a new application each time they seek additional help. Applicants demonstrating the greatest financial need are given preference regardless of race, creed, age or sex.
